Cynthia had to say...

Ever since I was about 2 years old, I've been reading (or looking at pictures!) My gram used to manage a Waldenbooks and would park me in the back (kids section) until it was time to go. Every member in my family has bookshelves full of various genres, so I read a bit of it all.

Big fan of Jodi Picoult, Dean Koontz, Jane Green, Patricia Cornwell, Ann Rule, Tess Gerritsen, John Douglas, Val McDermid.

Books I'm not interested in list-most often I have them to read at home or I have already read them.

I have a fascination with True Crime books-which falls over to my TV shows of choice, although I find that I have already read many of the cases on Forensic Files. I like mystery books more so than "horror", some light chick lit, some historical lit, and lately been reading some things about the Middle East-Kabul Beauty School, A Mighty Heart.

The Twilight Saga

As I said on other websites, I held out with this series. I didn't understand the fuss and I felt like it was a Harry Potteresque event with crappy vampires. Oops. My bad. I'm finishing up the last book and I haven't read something I've enjoyed so much since Harry Potter. First of all, I just like afterlife creature stories.. stories (the exception being Stoker's Dracula). The Women of the Underworld books by Kelley Armstrong, The Historian, The Season of Passage. I like books based off the true life of Vlad Dracul and Countess Bathory. I guess I enjoy a bit of horror (except Ann Rice is too bloody for me). But this series is less horror and more love. A lot of love. The story of a love so strong that it goes past the human lifespan. Of course other things happen, danger enters and misunderstanding and some broken hearts, but it is the love between Edward and Bella, in a book designed for teenagers (aka-no graphic descriptions) that sucked me in. Each kiss they share makes me wish I had that. I now understand why all the teens got obsessed with the fictional Edward Cullen. To be honest, if he WAS real, I would be envious of Bella. Well, even with him fictional, I still am a bit jealous. Don't let the age group stop you. It is worth checking out.
